Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's dad came from a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. The actress has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Ryder's younger sister is Uria. Ryder along with her whole family moved to California's Mendocino County, when Ryder was seven. The family lived in a place without electric power. Ryder was a voracious reader and spent her time reading books as she had no television. Ryder began to take acting classes in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986, and Ryder who was barely 15 years old, landed the role of a leading actor. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Ryder hoped that her actions would bring about a change. Sadly, this didn't occur. However, she was determined to pursue her goals. In 1988 she had her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful characters in numerous films. In 1993 she received two nominations in the Academy Awards. One of them for her role In The Age of Innocence.
